I'll start development on my whole site as soon as phpbb_fetch_all is moved over to phpBB 2.2, although I'll probably work on the forum style as soon as beta 1 comes out...

You make a good argument against the use of pre-modded boards.
They have a lot of features, but they generally run like crap, are hard on systems resources, and make upgrades difficult.
I already knew a lot about this, and thus I've kept away from physically changing the tables, just adding new ...

I like the feature also, but....
All the cross browser solutions I"ve seen tend to be fairly large in size leading to a lot of bloat that we may not want in phpBB.
vBulletin solution cross browser?? I thought Safari was meant to be more standard complainant than IE, yet IE and Mozilla support ...

Judging my the number of Mods I have installed, although none of them will stop me from using the supplyed upgrade path, however, my site would lose some features. As a consquence, I don't plan on upgrading till I've finished redoing the front-end/back-end (end-user interface will remain the same ...

There's still a phpBB 2.0 CVS, but mostly all that's there are bug fixes...

Let's be fair : subSilver is a simple but very neat template, easy to read with not too much images. More, the javascripts done for the bbCodes was on 2.0 something quite impressive : I doubt a lot of people, including templates designers, will be able to achieve such functionalities. It suffers ...
