What about something like ipbsdk but only with basic functions? I think Virtuality talked about a GDK (Graphics Development Kit) as psoTFX called it but I don't know what the ipbsdk is. If it is a SDK (Software Development Kit), I wonder what exactly it does and which functions these basic function...

Ah, that's what you're talking about I was thinking of a Software Development Kit in general Well no idea about the graphics. Since there is nothing about the final style you can be really sure of I guess no one will be able to give you an answer yet.

Wouldn't it be possible to convert all MODs which only add a column to the phpbb_users table by checking for additional columns, getting their type and converting them to a custom profile field. Maybe it could also ask which field type should be used, since guessing the field type from the DB column...

They seem to have decided for a different way as the last checkin by psoTFX shows. We will see how long this line stays there or wether one of the developers will accidently commit his edited common.php. I'm quite sure this will happen relativly soon
