Re: The current CVS.

If you install it on localhost and login to it from localhost, then your IP for session IP validation is 127.0.0.1 regardless of whether or not your ISP gives you a static IP address, correct? ;)

Re: The current CVS.

I was able to install a test board, create forums, login and logout just fine. I use Firefox. If you can't figure out how or which settings you need to change then you should probably wait until there's manual to help you or until support can be provided...whichever comes first.

Re: about colors

Why would anyone be converting colors to hex? As if learning colors in decimal is easier? All you need to know is all websafe colors are combinations of the hexadecimal values 00, 33, 66, 99, cc, and ff. So no need to monkey around with the decimal values, converting to hex only to find it's not ...

Re: phpBB 2.2, top features

I've still debating whether or not I'll enable post reporting. I've seen it abused by users before. Long story short, on a site parallel to mine a user or users took it upon themselves to report every post made by another group of users if it even looked like they were breaking a rule until ...

Re: Smilies?

I know this isn't real important, but to tell you the truth I've always thought the current smilies look kinda...well...male. I think it's the eyebrows. :? I made my own custom smilies to look androgynous and I'll probably carry them over to the new version.

Oh, and I like the current size because ...

Re: Great Mistake

Fair point. :) However, the OP made it sound like we should burn the author of the language pack (which wasn't even for phpBB3) at the stake. To add to that, there isn't anything we can do about it.

Oh I agree. ;) But it's a good example of how internationalization can turn political especially ...

Re: Great Mistake

It doesn't have anything to do with phpBB3 directly and we're not supposed to post phpBB specific topics in Chit-Chat anyway. So, I'm just speaking in general. I think internationalization is an important issue for anyone who runs a website and/or forum as it easy to inadvertently offend someone ...

Re: are people just that bored?

do note not all hackers are bad, white hackers are good. ( they look for exploits and other things and then notify it about it )

and bad hackers are mostly the persons who are lonely and dont have many friends. overall sad

Uhm...a hacker could look for exploits if that was their area of ...

Re: Great Mistake

They probably will. Just at the moment, the devs are writing it in British English, so it's English [UK].

Who will probably what? What devs? eh?

Oh I see...you think that I was speaking about this board's language selection. I wasn't. I was speaking about internationalization in general ...

Re: Great Mistake

Which is fair enough - but it bugs me when I have to choose "British English" because "English" refers to the American dialect ;)

(I'd have no objection to British English as an alternative to American English, for the record.)

Most of the time when on an international site that allows me to ...
