I think what a lot of people are feeling is phpBB has a great community of developers, but the devlopment team is not doing the best to tap into that talent. Having such a closed development system with few developers is making things move really slow.

Will 3.0 have better SQL backup and restore functions?
I am hoping that phpBB 3 will have better SQL backup and restore functions. The current functions are ok if you have a small forum. But my database is almost 100MB and it is a real pain to restore. Some things I would like to see:

It is basically the luck of the draw when you download a CVS. Try again when a new one is updated and see if they fixed the problem.

You need to delete the admin_easmod.php file in your admin folder. You should also delete the easmod template files from your template(s).

Rather then continue working with a buggy forum I decided to start from a scartch install of phpBB 2.0.11. So I installed it alongside my old install of phpBB. I installed easymod and all the mods I wanted. Then I switch the table prefix to my old install. Everything on the forum works fine ...

I was wondering if the modfication files used to install the mod (in the mods directory) can or should be deleted? I just leave them in there.
