In ACP, should Styles show their version information like Extensions?
In ACP->CUSTOMISE, Extension management, the list shows Extension name, Version , Options and Enable. Styles management only shows the Style name and doesn't show the version information. Is this design intent or an omission that should be fixed? Creating & Modifying Styles clearly indicates tha...

Re: PHPBB3-15097 - Board statistics page should show PHP version
For completeness, this ticket was replaced by [PHPBB3-15198] Fix phpBB and PHP version info displayed in the ACP which implements this proposed solution.

Re: Releasing 3.2.1
First things first, kudos to all involved in phpBB 3.2's development and release. It's not often that a dot zero release goes out the door so smoothly, without significant blocker bugs that require a quick .1 release to resolve issues. 👍👍 There are a number of phpBB 3.2 issues that have been resolve...

PHPBB-15151 - ACP Cookie settings should contain explanatory text for all fields
Some background discussion is here . Here is my first pass at the explanatory text. I've added to the introduction section in a manner consistent with the ACP->Spambot countermeasures introduction section, i.e. If you have problems with users staying logging in to your board, visit the phpBB.com Kno...

Re: [Redesign] User Online Banner
What is the suppose of this question? Do you suggest to remove the online image or don't spend time on a thing, you think nobody cares anyway? I believe that not having the online/offline image (or any other indicator) is an option that should be considered. To some extent it is meaningless as it d...

Has someone been updating Area51's board software?
Not sure if this is the correct forum to post this, so please move if it should be elsewhere. I could swear over the past couple of days the icons and some of the buttons (Save draft/Preview/Submit) have changed appearance. I also think my avatar has disappeared. If I'm correct, on a Win10 desktop, ...

Re: What standard does phpBB follow for setting cookies?
Thanks. I have been giving some thought to appropriate explanation text based on all the replies, plus the knowledge base article and other articles that have been linked into this discussion. WIP.

Re: What standard does phpBB follow for setting cookies?
@CHItA and DavidIQ, if you re-read the first post, I've been focused on the input that the board admin supplies and trying to understand the requirements/standards that apply. Since there is no explanation text associated with the cookie domain field, the board admin is left on their own to input so...

Re: What standard does phpBB follow for setting cookies?
As I said, I'm investigating this simply because it repeatedly and regularly appears in the phpBB support forums as a problem for board admins. At a minimum, I've created [PHPBB3-15151] ACP Cookie settings should contain explanatory text for all fields to assist board admins. For information/compari...
