By suggesting 2000px, might as well remain at fluid width then (since most screens are less than 2000px anyways).
But that's the point... it's only intended for users with huge displays. I personally don't see a problem with the way the system is setout now with exception to those huge displays ...

960px seems way too low.
You're right. The change proposed is 1152px.
:? It's a better number, but I honestly think it would be better at 2,000px (just after 1920px) simply on the basis that HD monitors get their widescreen resolution, then uber-screens can have a limit that isn't overkill ...

As a passing user, I don't make much criticism to the thought of having a default max-width setting, but why 960px? As someone who has a 'HD-Monitor' at 1920px wide, I can read easily most forums including this one just fine (even if it is at a little stretch). If you want to set a max-width setting ...
