so what i am gathering, keep them, but we should at least look into providing a consistent interface for both and just use the smiles as a custom category for the new theme?

not to steal the topic but its slightly related to the smiles, do we or should we eliminate them in the new theme ? with the advent of emojis are smiles still relavent? possibly add something like https://github.com/diy/jquery-emojiarea instead? and change the current code we use for the current ...

"Plus" and "minus" icons along with the existing text I guess. What's more important is to make it look like a button.

Just throwing some little ideas for discussion. The intention here is to make the full editor look tidier and more intuitive to use.

We could recreate the same banner using CSS3 shapes and transform.
Give it CSS classes so anyone can change font properties, background color etc. and leave it to style authors to create unique banners.

It is. I run some SQL queries to update cookie information whenever I transfer a phpBB site, because otherwise I can't enter the admin panel.
