People are threatened more by software that falls a decade behind than by moving to modern interfaces. The look of subsilver2 does not belong in the modern forum landscape. It's embarrassing to look at, let alone include as a sanctioned part of any package in 2012.

There is no reason for an open-source project to cater to users who are attached to outdated software. Commercial companies do it because those users are often the less tech savvy customers who also tend to be more profitable. But as far as subsilver2 is concerened, this cord that should have been ...

People look for a "contact us" link, which is typically in the footer. They do not find one, but instead see a link to phpBB.com, which claims to "power" the site they wish to complain about. In fact, a variation of the word "power" appears in the first sentence of many emails sent in this regard ...

Placing the copyright/brand in the footer of distributed software is not uncommon. In fact, many software companies require their clients to pay an extra fee to legally be allowed to remove it.
