Gah, talk about necromancy @_@

Speaking from experience of half-writing a hacky convertor...the data structure of 2.0.x isn't changed for 2.2.x in anything like the way that 1.4.x changed to 2.0.x. That isn't to say it's a case of "just add a few new fields and convert the format of some old ones"... there are more major changes ...

Don't forget that 2.0 used to have a spell checker in the development stages; then the external site used moved to a paid-only model.

if I want something a bit more functional I use bluefish or jEdit. i liked eclipse's CVS interface and the php-eclipse plugin (checks for parse errors when you save a file..for nub coders like me, that really helps).

I managed to install Smartor's Album MOD, and his Portal system...
Hopefully, phpBB 2.2 won't have any changes that will cause that MOD to stop working properly... Its also nice to see that the Attachment MOD is integrated... plus the Font Color box is nice...

Some time between alphas and release candidates..or in other words, when it's done, which is the only correct answer.

phpBB's developmental release timetables are dictated by the quality of the product, not a pre-determined calendar.
