Re: I am sure you all have see t his may times but...

Actually I haven't seen a Windows update patch available as often as they used to be. :D That's because they changed their policy on releasing patches. They don't release them individually as they become available (you know, like at the time when you first need it) but in one big rollup patch every...

Re: Daylight Saving Time (DST) within one country

I read the entire thread before I posted, thanks. I'm also pretty sure that psoTFX has spelled this issue out before somewhere in a request to have the board to auto-detect whether or not to change to displaying times in daylight saving time formats during those times of the year, but I'm too lazy t...

Re: Daylight Saving Time (DST) within one country

As I said, ofcourse I will be able to write a MOD for this, but that's not a solution for the shortcoming of phpBB itself, it would be just a workaround for me as an individual user. I think you seem to be missing the point that it's not a failing nor a 'shortcoming' in phpBB. It's merely a feature...

Re: Quick Question

2.1.x is not being missed... this board is 2.1.2, and CVS is 2.1.x. It's not "out" strictly speaking, but is there.

The 2.1.x version is the development board, when released it will become 2.2.x

As per this post here.

Re: Never understood <BR />

For all those blabbering on about XHTML, <BR /> isn't XHTML. Please read specifications more closely. ;) "All those blabbering on about XHTML" didn't state that <BR /> is XHTML. They all said <br /> is XHTML. The question being answered: I have looked up some HTML references and can find no referen...

Re: Who should I contact or where do I post for phpBB2.2 hel

To expand upon the previous post, I would imagine that the phpBB team would very much prefer you not set up any kind of support forum for 2.2 (or indeed the 2.1 development version). There are a few of reasons I can think of that would make me think this... 1) If you offer support, people have a ten...

Re: Never understood <BR />

Sorry, "afaik" is a common abbreviation for "as far as I know". The main advantage of XHTML is that it is XML compliant and so brings with it all the advantages of XML. I'd advise reading some of the http://www.w3.org" target="_blank site for XML and XHTML specs and philosophy. There are plenty of l...
