FronServo at the end of the day people are going to stick with phpbb as everyone who wants a free decent forum knows of it through other boards they use. Plus you can rely on decent support as the userbase is so huge.

I have just realised I have been registered for over 2 years. It really doesn't seem that long ago when I first read about 2.2 as it was back then.
I am not too fussed anymore when 3.0 is released as I have come to realise that the content of your board matters more than what shiny bits are attached.

I am happy with phpbb2. It does what I need but when 3.0 is out I will upgrade as it will be nice to have those extra admin features.

Takes time to learn the current style of coding and standards within 3.0. So if they trained up another developer would probably delay the release as what time the devs have on training.Hosting Geek wrote: is it really that hard to find another devel that has head and sholders above the pack like the current ones?

Usually on installation it should ask you what form of english you want. I personnally recommend Ubuntu. Easy to install and set up and does ask you to specify what version of English you want.
The only problems I have had with it is that ndiswrapper isn't compatible with the wireless card I had.
