Re: What can you say about Flarum?
To me it looks like a platform for support sections or such. I don't see that as a forum software such as phpBB3.

Re: xenforo, new forum software, great source for ideas
I agree that a lot of what is in XenForo is also in phpBB. But I just tried the demo, and I do like how their ACP is set up. It's much easier to navigate (in my opinion) than the phpBB one is, at least for a new user (not as much for an experienced user).

Re: Translations -- use GNU GetText please
Yeah, I guess that wouldn't be possible then. Someone mentioned removing translation from the codes so translators could have it easier is in some way false.

Re: SEO URLs
The other thing is: Is the work to implement SEO urls (the right way so it works with other things) worth the work, as people really think that "SEO-friendly URLs" are really search engine friendly... and not no the overall pagerank of the site and other important things.

Re: Translations -- use GNU GetText please
Just as a question: Why don't you use the same language keys? Isn't the main reason to make it easier to translate things and untranslated things stay in english? I don't see a reason why you just could use the already existing languages keys.

I never use it myself, but <p> exists too. And you wouldn't need to use div's.hanakin wrote:however making everything divs is not a smart approach since everything would thus have to rendered as a div since the user can apply bbcodes in any manner they wish you could end up with something like

+1 from me too
I'm not sure if anyone even use it anyways. I know that some styles remove the that font resize button anyways.

Re: [RFC] HTML5 doctype
I'm not saying in any way that i don't like the idea. To be honest, I really like it. I think I just overread a part of the op post.
After all it would be a small chance for now, but I guess later there is going to be a lot of changes to make things more html5 conform.

Re: [RFC] HTML5 doctype
Advantage of what things of html5? Not that i would care about IE, but everything under IE9 doesn't support new html5 things like audio and video tags.
