You need to alter your settings so that guests can browse the forum.
ACP>USERS AND GROUPS/GROUPS FORUM PERMISSIONS/
select 'guest'
select which forum(s) you want them to view or all forums
then select 'read only access' for each or all of your forums
That way anyone can view your forum but can ...

Do you mean the profile that shows to the right (sometimes the left :? ) of a post?
Assuming Prosilver or a derivative you might have a look in viewtopic.php
Make a copy of viewtopic.php and save it somewhere safe then open up viewtopic.php with a good text editor (NOT notepad!)

You can't set a limit by force you have to rely on people inputting the correct information on registration. If a twelve year old tells you he is twenty five there's not a lot you can do.
The COPPA registration goes some way to helping you but again it relies on people inputting the truth.

Well, long story short, no, not if you want to remain 'strict'. There is javascript out there that will do it but you could always 'right click' instead?
