I tried the Mod you suggested but it didn't change the default order to descending, any thoughts? thanks.. here's what you said; Try this: in functions_user.php, look for Code: Select all 'user_options' => 895, after that put Code: Select all 'user_post_sortby_dir' => 'd',

thanks, but where do I find functions_user.php? Can I make that edit with a text editor?

Thanks a million... that works, but is there a way to change it so that it's set up to descending by default? That works much better for the type of forum I'm doing and I'd rather not have to explain how to do it to everyone who logs in......

Change default for posts to Descending order?

Is there a way to make the default setup so that the most recent posts are on top of the page on a phpbb3 forum? Each user can change it at the bottom of the forum page, but when you post a reply it goes back to showing the most recent post on the last page at the bottom. Maybe I'm missing something...
