I can't say what will happen in the future or what the plans are for 4.0 but when phpBB 3.0 was released there was no upgrade path from alpha and beta versions.Random American wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 3:24 am Just curious as there were people were effectively demanding its release on the main site.

Re: Feature request re exif tag handling
I would like to see different approach for this. There should be a user option for how the meta data is handled, keep it or strip it. If keep it is selected you don't need to worry about rotation, you only adjust the height/width and other relevant meta data to resizing. If strip it is selected then...

Re: Register Page Not Working
This will only effect that domain that you are trying to use, typically if a email address does not have a valid MX record it's a server utilized by spammers hence the reason it can be checked. You can turn this feature off in the ACP under security settings if you want but there is really no reason...

Re: SPAMBOTS - how can we stop them - read FIRST post.
That makes sense for spambots but I think many "spam" accounts are real people just registering accounts to place their web sites and descriptions on the forum. Yes? Or am I being naive? The recent wave of spam is caused by Bots, that's why its so prevalent. By doing what you're doing IMO...

Re: SPAMBOTS - how can we stop them - read FIRST post.
backdoor, the spambots are automated and I don't see that will help. The way they work is to either have a database of sites that run phpbb or seek them out. They "know" where the registration page is and don't need a link to find it. For phpbb2 specifically they would simply post the regi...

Try the "delete board cookies" link in the lower right of your forum.
If that doesn't work, manually clear your cookies from your browser.

phpBB has this feature built in, look under attachment setting in the ACP.
ACP > Posting > Attachment Settings
There's an option to enable thumbnails.

You need to run the database update script in the install folder after restoring if your older version is not 3.0.4.

Re: Downloaded style does not appear in styles menu
Are you saying the ACP is still prosilver style ACP? That's on purpose and the ACP style is separate than the forum style.
There's no ACP styles that I'm aware of and I wouldn't use one anyway.
