phpBB 4 should certainly use AJAX. If it isn't, you'll loose me and like 50% of the people using phpBB. When phpBB will arrive, every serious site will have AJAX features.
I saw some of you mentioning it should be an easy style. I don't know, but AJAX makes things easy. You need less age loads ...

I really don't see the issue, it isn't like the layout gets butchered. And even if it would, the user did this himself and can expend the area again to fix it. phpBB shouldn't ...

Re: [RFC] Don't show banned members birthdays
Currently, if you ban a spam bot, then it obviously can't post. However they still show up on Birthday. Sometimes the spambots select the same day (paricularly the 1st of Jan and 31st December) and result in days such as today .
Thing is, those users aren't banned so obviously they show up ...

Re: [RFC] blacklist forums in default searches
I'm actually doing the same thing on one of my boards, though we have various groups with "never" permissions if users want to hide a forum, although that isn't exactly the nicest/most user friendly way to handle that. I actually like the idea of hiding the forum completely.
As a final note, the ...

Re: [RFC] blacklist forums in default searches
I'm kinda +1 on that, however that might clutter the page a lot as well. Although it could be hidden with some javascript and a "adjust filter" link so something similar.Senky wrote:but also show it in the page of that searches to see another results you want in quick manner.

[RFC] blacklist forums in default searches
Currently if you use the "view unanswered posts", "view unread posts", "view new posts" or "view active topics" searches phpBB will include all forums in the result and there is no way to limit these results. This is a problem as search results might become cluttered with forums you don't wan't/need ...

Re: Releasing 3.0.11
Will the 3.0.11 final release support 5.2.17 ?
My host doesnt seem to upgrade it too soon.
Yes, phpBB 3.0.x supports php < 5.3, the php 5.3.2 requirement is added in the 3.1.x line.
Does 3.1 have an aproximate date on when it will be released... a year... two.. more?

Re: Releasing 3.0.11
Many errors? When RC1 was released, there was only one ticket waiting for the final version and that was the logo ticket since it could be delayed without needing to be tested. One regression has been found and a few other important issues were found that we wanted fixed before releasing 3.0.11. It ...

Re: Releasing 3.0.11
I'm not sure on which information you've based that rc2(/or the final for what it is worth) is delayed. Some rc cycles take longer then others.
There are still open tickets marked for rc2 of which one blocker, so don't expect a release until at least the blocker has been resolved.
