How could it be phpbb itself giving users maximum crappy search engine and even dont bother to use it by itself... phpbb.com uses google search because if they choose to search by their own search engine server will go down... Its so bad, so resource consuming and for board with same amount of posts...

Such boards should convert in a matter of minutes; there is one exception however: remotely linked avatars. Each remote avatar will be visited during the conversion which can take some time (we abort after a second, but that's still a lot). ~H BINGO :D my board dont accept local avatars so about 60...

We have a board with 400,000 posts and 80,000 users and it took around 2 hours to convert. We run 2 dedicated servers, 1 for database, 1 for httpd. respect dude... u are rich coz i run bigger board on one small server :P ... no money You could prune your old posts and inactive users if you want to ...

interesting... dunno why... server was little overloaded during a day... but when night come and it was still converting speed was same... so maybe timing... my home internet connection go bad in last few days and maybe i must wait for refreshed page much longer or server timing in my.cnf was set ba...

Constantly refreshing? ;) For example... get user count with expire 30 minutes. So on index.php we dont get user count at every refresh but only once... and if user is back in 30 minutes then he get this data refreshed... <% response.expires=-1 response.write(time) %> Note: The Expires property sets...

Well good idea :) i will try do it in offline mod... why? Coz complete conversion took not 16 but 36 hours... and in the end, i got -326 users, -5 posts and no forums displayed on index... data in database was pretty much good (posts, users) but displaying it was bad, something go wrong. So im going...

Hello, I have problem, my forum have 390.000 posts and 90.000 users. Converting still take place, now its about 13 hours and till end it will be aproximetly 16 hours.... Its "ok" for me now, because i do this only for tests... but when i will be real moving to phpbb3 i cant shutdown forum ...
