I'm actually impressed by how few bugs have been reported. Well done dev team!

in addition, my guess is that phpbb group will follow tradition, in that RC stages are typically significantly longer than beta stages. the beta stages were typically 2-3 months each (except one 2-weeks runt cycle), and it's a fair guess that each RC stage will be ~4 months.

Your fix fine for a tech savvy user but I don't think that's a mainstream solution. Everything should be really simple.

Open MS paint. Select the pencil.
Draw a rough picture of a house.

Nope, this would work for individual forums, but not for a standard distribution.
