Re: New Topic Icons

I don't like the egg shape so much. Makes them look less cute and funny. They look more human. I don't find the new ones are that useful to express some expressions and the cool already existed. Even the color (darker orange) doesn't seem to fit well the boar now. I really love what people at devian...

Re: Better Spambot Protection in phpBB3?

This is a trick for numbers that's nice. The main problem in my eyes is that it's not only numbers but that it doesn't apply for guest posts. One very features of phpBB3 is the ability to post as guest, and bot will try to make use of it for sure. You may remove it but then you lose that nice feature.

Re: Better Spambot Protection in phpBB3?

I've put a custom question in an image. Putting it in an image doesn't improve much the turing test but it doesn't take much more effort either. That's what I did in phpBB2 and it worked well. It may be required to change the question every so and then but usually no human spammer takes the time to ...

Re: Better Spambot Protection in phpBB3?

I think also that a trivial question even a unique question but custom to each board is a way to avoid spam (supposing the admin change that question every so and then).

Re: phpBB2 -> phpBB3 Upgrade Script Discussion

I finally found how to solve my "MySQL server has gone away [2006]". One post had a huge amount of text ":cry:". I didn't look for the fault in the convertion tool but here is the SQL of that post.
