personally I think you only need a very basic warning system.
you set your rules,
if someone breaks a rule, you can warn them, let them know.
if they do it again, you ban/delete/deactivate them, whatever.
very simple.
If your board is for young children, then you may need some kind of "time out ...

the whole point of the update is to update. what would you get to choose what edits to make?
you have to figure out how to make those edits so that your MODs still work, but you still have to make them in order to be updated.

I think some of you are missing something here.
when you are using a wysiwyg editor, you still have to format your text etc. by clicking on the format buttons just like you do for bbcode.
It doesn't read your mind and create the formatting for you.

most of the cms programs have a phpbb plugin or bridge.

using your ftp that you used to upload the phpbb files, find that file. right click on it. choose chmod or properties ( whatever your ftp program calls it.
set the permissions to either 644 or rw+r+r ( read write+read+read )

depends on what you want it to say.
if you do not want it to say "Subject: Topic reply notification" then change it to whatever you want.
the script will automatically replace { TOPIC_TITLE } with the title of the topic .
