Maybe the future isn't in modifying the CAPTCHA more, but recognizing and deleting spam posts automatically. Something like WordPress and its Akismet integration.

Will it come included with phpBB installation?
I mean something with just text or so, no tables and additional if possible.
Would be a great help for clueless guys like me :D

Seems like most of the work/bugs is being handed over to Acyd Burn. Not good for anyone with the amount of bugs being reported.

Actually he assigns the bugs to himself so I am sure he knows that he has the time. David, Nils, and Graham are meanwhile finishing the last remaining features ...

People also don't seem to realise that Beta1 could very well ship with "know bugs" which are open in the bug tracker as they aren't show stoppers or things which will only be worked on for Beta2 (or later).

Actually I think the algorithms are rather easy (do you think those magic eye books are done by hand? ;) ) and a computer would have difficulty undoing it because it requires two eyes.

Of course it would be a lot easier than the harder ones.

I was reading that php 5 didn't support some things phpBB needed to function.

I think it was HTTP_*_VARS was depreciated or something.
