Re: New CAPTCHA

Maybe the future isn't in modifying the CAPTCHA more, but recognizing and deleting spam posts automatically. Something like WordPress and its Akismet integration.

Re: Minimalistic Bot Style

Will it come included with phpBB installation? I mean something with just text or so, no tables and additional if possible. Would be a great help for clueless guys like me :D That would be considered cloaking, no? You are delivering a separate page to the bot, which could be interpreted as coaking,...

Re: Suspecting beta release very very soon!

Seems like most of the work/bugs is being handed over to Acyd Burn. Not good for anyone with the amount of bugs being reported. Actually he assigns the bugs to himself so I am sure he knows that he has the time. David, Nils, and Graham are meanwhile finishing the last remaining features. I bet he w...

Re: Suspecting beta release very very soon!

Interesting how the closer we get to the release the more people seem to come out of the woodwork :) Yeah, I'd be one of them. =P Although, my community hasn't been up for that long yet, so sinking into phpBB I finally heard about Olympus and it's 2+ year development. Kinda glad, because now I don'...

Re: Suspecting beta release very very soon!

ONOES! 63 bugs :( People also don't seem to realise that Beta1 could very well ship with "know bugs" which are open in the bug tracker as they aren't show stoppers or things which will only be worked on for Beta2 (or later). Right. And, as I recall, phpBB 2.0.20 included bug fixes as well, no? Even...

Re: New CAPTCHA

Actually I think the algorithms are rather easy (do you think those magic eye books are done by hand? ;) ) and a computer would have difficulty undoing it because it requires two eyes. Of course it would be a lot easier than the harder ones. Diffuculty undoing it? Not really difficult. A bit yes, b...

Re: Suspecting beta release very very soon!

I know Olympus ship out date now! Check this: * In the event phpBB3 Beta1 shows up before the 15th of May, the shipment/price change date will be moved ahead. Reference to http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=387662" target="_blank Hmm... so it will be release before May 15th. No, my gue...

Most of the commits seem to be database-related as of late.

Re: Suspecting beta release very very soon!

Hmm, maybe I just found the ones that had problems. =P

I was reading that php 5 didn't support some things phpBB needed to function.

I think it was HTTP_*_VARS was depreciated or something.
