As we are starting from a blank canvas, I think we should work towards have a system where the core code (shipped with phpBB) remains intact. What this means is instead of modifying phpBB files, we should allow the modders access to a set of functions that do the same job.

if i had to guess i would say that the team do not expose their roadmap not because they are secretive, but because they don't really have one.

Just my 2 cents: I think a documentation wiki should be set up at phpBB.com so that any of the Team Members can update/add to the documentation at ease. This way all the work will be divided and any one from the team can work on it
