Re: phpBB is NOT Dead? or am I stupid?

Sidenote...I did not read here for months...is pso-no-predictions-from-me-but-in-2004-TFX still the main coding brain or did he silently slip over board...? ;) according to the cvs commits, psotfx has not made any significant code contribution for many months now, prolly more than a year. based on ...

Re: phpbb3 mods

well, the way cvs works is: ehhhm ehhm.... no, i am not going to write a 5-liner guide to cvs. just rtfm. please note, though, that cvs stands for "Concurrent Versions System", and is used with small and large development projects. there are many projects with hundred of Klocs (quite a few...

Re: phpbb3 mods

..... And - yes I've already started - if you want to do so, you can - technically - forge the functions you need. But you have to keep them updated manually! not exactly. if you use cvs, (not the "snapshot" thingy, but rather "real" cvs), the code changes will be merged for you...

Re: Some bugs I found with 2.1.2

But why? It gives the development team something to fix. :) the code's not broken, it's not finished. therefore there is nothing to fix. actually, this is not a case of "not finished", but rather a bug. the code was "more correct" until revision 1.14, where acydburn made a chang...

Re: Shapshot Updates

The only way to find out is to install the new snapshot. There is no way of telling of any new features for Olympus Snapshots and they are released every hour. this may be true if you use the snapshot, but if you actually use the cvs, there is a perfect record of what changed when. if you want, the...

Re: About Beta

just misunderstood you, doesn't matter 2.0.x can have everything here if you're willing to do a lot of MODs not quite. specifically, the "approve message mod" (not sure about the name, but it is the mod that makes messages hidden until approved by moderator) which is a feature of v3, was ...

Re: New Karma System (Theory)

the more i think about karma system(s), the more i am convinced that such system should not be made a part of the core product, because it is a) complex b) susceptible to "engineering". otoh, i thought of a very simple, and, imo, effective substitute: once a system has a friend/foe feature...

Re: Wow :D

uchiha, the point is not "volunteers" vs. "programmers", the point is "take" vs. "take effort from". theoretically, someone can create, say, a wysiwig editor and submit it, it can then be used, but still this "someone" may not join the "team&quo...
