try search teh .css files for search box. I know there is some styling for it and placing but i cannot remember where exactly.

I dont know if i did the install right in the first place. If i read the instructions correctly you set the folder where your forum is installed to permission 744. I dont know about other ftp programs (and my in-experience with this one) but wsftp 9 gives you the option to either apply to this ...

I tired installing easymod today and messed up something bigtime. I set the permissions to 744 for all the files and folders in forum folder. I take it that wasnt the proper thing to do :( now the forum doesnt load and i get errors
