imo i feel there should be a simplfiied interface for all the permission and stuff...

with phpbb3 i often get lost when trying to set the permissions, especially when there is no indication of the advanced permissions

Will phpBB3 have any feature to split mass email into chunks and send out batch by batch after a certain timeout period?

somehow prosilver has some sort of a cluttered feeling to me compared to sS2... anyone feel the same way?

For my current phpBB board I have this mod where users need to have 10 posts and above in order to post links.

My immediate thought when I read the topic was that it could be useful to send a mass email in small batches. On a large forum with hundreds of users, sending the mails all at once could crash the mail server and/or be interpreted as a DOS attack, whereas if smaller batches of emails were sent ...

I'm not sure where to put this... but I'm just asking whether does phpBB3 have the ability to stagger mass email sending?

If not I hope a mod will be made for it soon...

I too agree that AJAX is good, only if implemented properly.

Many people who suggest AJAX fail to realise that implementing it takes lots of time and hard work. AFAIK there's a mod for phpBB2 that does some AJAX, perhaps the developers can get some inspiration from there for 3.2.

As what others have said, I believe it all depends on your needs and wants.

For me, I just take phpBB as the 'core'. Like the Linux or Windows kernel. Then I add the things that I want to have in my forum. It makes my board unique, too.

Who cares about AJAX when there's telepatic reply.
