And yes, it is optional. You can set permissions for users to rate posts on a per user/group basis, for each forum (see bottom of this screenshot - 'can rate posts')

Well, if he said that 'forae' is a Latin word then yes, he is. According to my Cambride Latin Course textbook, second declension neuter nouns have the endings -um, -i, -o, -a or -is...nowhere there do I see 'ae'.

Of course, if you could point me to some evidence that suggests otherwise then I ...

Time for a little Latin lesson... ;) 'forum' is neuter, second declension, so plural nominative of 'forum' takes an -a ending, i.e. 'fora'. There's no such word as 'forae', in whatever case of the second declension neuter; -ae as an ending only figures ...
