That is one of my main worries, indeed.
Sad to see that we seem not to be worthy to get to know whether these features are planned to be used for 3.0 or 3.2+.

Am I really the only one who sees the negative aspect of that announcement, especially the "no deadline" part? As much as I appreciate that the guys decided to accept contributions on certain more or less useful features, I also wonder whether the possible negative aspects might eat up the advantage...
