It is not "cleaned up" - this was a mistake i will revert (global setting will be ON - local setting OFF, which results in OFF)

QR is disabled by default (due to it being disabled for existing and new forums). It is enabled globally to circumvent support requests of the like: "hey, i enabled it in the forums, why does it not show up?! YUO!!!"

I know, but there were still hundreds of cache files. ;) We (Chris and i) analysed the usage at phpbb.com and then decided to drop it based on these results.

Perhaps the main one that leaps out is the would be to cache fully the WHO IS ONLINE data (say with a 120sec TTL) as this has an order N squared costs and there is no integrity penalty is the data is slightly stale. This would give a modest but worthwhile performance boost to (2).

Why hide it again? If you opened it, it was done for a reason (probably).

Actually, I'd rather see it always open (looks kinda ugly with that show editor button). :P

I beg to differ. :) I find it very hard to reach the bottom links for navigating if there is a huge textarea... luckily the normal ...
