However, the comments from slashdot are completely irrelevant. He dismisses the entire paradigm of forum software, and there's little that can be done to change the fundamental structure ...

Re: phpBB 3.2 Discussion
Personally I think this is one reason why the developers don't accept donations. I think this separates phpbb from many other opensource projects. Phpbb team are literally doing this for their own pleasure, they want to build their vision a fantastic forum software and so they are going to build it ...

Re: Bug is less,
yeah my "My SQL has gone away error message" is going to hopefully be dealt with when RC1 comes out.
I got "SET NAMES 'binary'" problems but in the bug tracker it counts as a "support request"!

Re: Suspecting RC1 very soon!
We will definitely be using a text based challenge whatever phpbb3 does (unless its crazy and out of this world). There was one really cool captcha which had 9 pictures and said "Click 3 Rabbits". It was done using Javascript, was fun and would probably be next to uncrackable (especially cause the ...

hehe I wonder if you could do a proTripping or subAcid style. Make it unbelievably psychedelic with loads of random swirling images

Re: cvschangelogbuilder
Just wondering then,
The whole "diffs go to links in sourceforge" is that not standard with cvschangelogbuilder? Did you have to edit the perl scrip at all?
I'm trying to get something similar for our development project on sourceforge.

Re: Bug is less,
If you've got a perfectly good working phpBB2 forum I don't see what the urgency is.
In my case, the urgency lies in the fact that I have put a "code freeze" into effect some while ago for my phpBB2 board (which I quite regularly modify myself and using third party MODs). And right now, the ...

Re: Live Enviroment
Yeah we have a bunch of boards that are "live" in the sense they are on-line, anyone can access them. We're doing horrible things like running prosilver of beta 5 for example! (It really doesn't work well :P). However they aren't really "live" boards because everyone knows that all the data is going ...
