I like the new smilies but I feel like the new versions are harder to see as the detailing is smaller. For example the mouth for the winking face is tiny.

That shouldn't be a problem. 4.0 should introduce many breaking changes. The problem with supporting prosilver for such a long time is that you'll never be able to improve and iterate on a new design choice.

I don't think it's a waste of time; prosilver could definitely do with a refactor of it's codebase to make it more modern and scalable but I do also agree that you shouldn't spend too much time on it assuming it'll stay the default style.

If you think you've found a bug, you should add it to the tracker so it can get reviewed for a potential fix. Having said that, I've never seen a colon in a file name and didn't think it's valid. I know you can use a colon to specify a port but for files... I don't think that's allowed.

You're more than welcome to create a ticket and then even submit a pull request for consideration for core. However avatar resizing might be too big of a feature to put into a 3.3 release. Best thing to do though is to open a ticket & PR and start the discussion.

Some 3.3 extensions should work fine on 4.0 but it depends on what changes throughout the development cycle of 4.0. It would be safe to assume that most validated extensions will be okay but as always... test, test, test first!

I'm not aware of a human-readable list as such, but you can use the Tracker to search for tickets marked for 4.0 which should give you some indication of what has changed and the process behind it.
