Does area51 have a purpose anymore?

While it is cool that it is a live demo of phpBB4-dev, it seems that practically nothing occurs here as far as discussion is concerned.

This board seems dead, especially when two posts a month seems to be when it is busiest.

I like the idea of installing extensions though a mouse click as well. Easier than uploading folders to a server.

I don't know why locked announcements and unlocked announcements share the same icon. Will that likely be changed in the final version?

I did a fresh install. No issues, and seems to be pretty stable. I can see why this is an RC.

The board I was thinking about updating is one step above a blog anyway, so it wouldn't be catastrophic eithe...

Re: phpBB 3.3.9-RC1 released

I used the full package and followed the instructions in https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3.3/ug/upgradeguide/update_full/ to update my phpBB 3.3.8 board without issue. Running on PHP 8.1 (8.1.12). Sanity testing showing no issues so far. If it turns out that the RC1 isn't what gets "rele...

I completley agree. I use XenForo for my main forum and i only use phpbb on the goldfish forum because it isn't mine.
What makes XenForo better than phpBB?
