I'd guess it will be relatively fast - it appears to be an external audit, for which they are paying. Given that people will be spending their 'professional' time on it, I wouldn't expect it to drag on.

In acp_forums.php. Not *quite* what you had in mind, but certainly close.

If you can set the permissions, then ensure the bots usergroup can see either only the printable pages, or only the normal ones.

Or, indeed, you could run a query to find out the forum ID, and then redirect to the *correct* url, meaning that search engines and users don't get thrown back to the index for no apparent reason.

I have no idea how the permissions are assigned after creating a forum, but you certainly can modify them (see the 'Bots' usergroup).

If you get rid of the 'f', you loose the 'First unread post' link, and you aren't logged as currently reading the forum the topic is in.

Mistype = you can't get to your account.

Personally, it annoys me (so ctrl+a, ctrl+c, tab, ctrl+v is used when confronted with such a form), but I see the reason for it.

If it's at his house, surely his inevitably poor upstream connection would be causing far more of a problem...
