1 - Export from MySQL board;
2 - Do a clean install for Firebird;
3 - Import the exported db into the empty Firebird board.

Is that possible?

As I guessed, the SQL statements generated from a backup from MySQL are not compatible with Firebird. I got a huge error screen. :x ...

What do you mean with will not transfer? Can you see the smilies in posts? Can you see them on the posting page? Can you see them when you click on the view more smilies link? Have you overlooked the smiley settings in the ACP?

Oke.. i hope this insn't to far off topic.. but with the current permissions system it isn't possible to put new topics on the moderator queu.. so that users can post an new topic.. but that only the topic start has to be approved?? isn't it?

I would also really like to have a permissions to only validate the first post of a topic.. so.. somthing like the topic start permissions mentions before. I would only need to review the first posts and the rest doens't need approval..

you need to install a new (empty) phpbb3 board. After that you can run the conversion script to import the data from phpbb2 into the newly installed phpbb3 board

try ../../../phpBB2/

This topic is more about discussing the conversion script. If you can't install a recent phpbb3 CVS version i think it's better to just wait for beta5.

the beta4 package doens't contain the convertor.. try http://area51.phpbb.com/cvs/ and download the latest phpBB 3.0.x Daily Snapshots.

anb then look in /docs/INSTALL.html

rememer that this is beta software and shouldn't be used in a live enviroment
