Well, it definetly is very easy, and I just had a look at some ipb skinning and it looked, not so easy, so it should be fine.

Do you want it to look EXACTLY like your ipb skin, or just the same "theme" (by theme I don't mean what phpbb calls theme, I mean the general look of something) Because ...

Well I definitely cannot wait unknown months for phpbb3 to come out, especially since the devs say nothing. So I am going to just go ahead with an IPB skin. However, when phpbb3 does come out I want to convert that IPB skin to phpbb3. Anyways, so phpbb3 skinning will be easier then IPB?

Will it be easy to convert an Invision Power Board skin to phpbb 3? What do you guys think? I personally have little experience with skin making in both softwares, however I will be having someone create a very nice skin for my forums and we can't possibly wait to who knows when phpbb3 comes out, so ...

Why not just copy + paste them into a text file? Much better than having them in an email account which may not be unlimited space.


Because copying and pasting 50 separate PM's is not an easy job my friend. I much rather have the board compile them, send it in HTML format, or Excel spreadsheet ...

What's the point of giving an anticipated (or GOAL) release date? Tell me. You want to know when to expect it. They said late Feb/early Mar and weren't able to release beta. How about they say May...and something else comes up in their lives and they miss May. What was the point in saying May?

I just found this remarkable tool in Invision Pro Board, it is where you can archive your PM messages so you dont have to completely lose them, it emails them to your email address.

Does phpbb 3 have this?

That's very easy. The GOAL is to release phpBB3 as fast as possible (that's the hope part).

I think the dev's should make an official announcement of thier progress. And tell people if they plan to stick on the schedule or make a new one, and state which month or time period is thier goal of hoping to finish the final version.

So I assume that we can download the cvs, install it on our local computer, and start styling a template so I can immediately use it for my website when the full 3.0 version comes out?

Will I have to change anything when the olympus comes? So I can startt my template now?

well then, I hope a couple months is correct however on what has been happening lately you cant count on any date they put out, and the dev's said it themselves. So why not trash the ill-informed release dates and just go with my idea, the progress list.
