Re: Better integration into a CMS in phpbb 2.2 ?

phpBB 2.2 already provides easier and better integration with CMS. If you would check the code and the MySQL scheme you would see it is already being developed with a portal in mind (phpBB portal) ;-). Portal and CMS developers need to stand up and make a decision. If they want to use phpBB as forum...

Oops, I forgot about the cookies feature. That would be possible but not included afaik.

Re: Anonymous post tracking

I really wouldn't recommend that. This will cause a strain to the database which is even unnecessary. There's always the highly customisable search as well as the "view your posts" feature. That's what I always use if I don't want to log in ;-). Imagine having 200 logged in users and 3000 ...

Re: WYSIWYG message board?

Of course if people will start creating standards-compliant themes for phpBB, all the work for a WYSIWYG posting page will be done for nothing. I have recently jumped on the XHTML/CSS design bandwagon and will be creating new themes to be standards-compliant. ...the old text-only BBSs (which we all ...

Re: PHPbb team : you have to catch up with the compition

I hate to see people bash phpBB 2.0 too much. It generally is well written, just requires a couple of changes about the place to really shine People forget that phpBB 2.0.x still has PHP3 in mind as well as backwards compatibility. People forget this quite often, but it is one of the (now) "pi...
