It still works in the same manner as the old one in that is builds a block of PHP code to execute; just with the added division into components. It borrows some code from Smarty for the conditional blocks, but doesn't use the entire library.

People post about how something in CVS doesn't work. (this is a no brainer)
Everyone else runs it into the ground about how there is no support for CVS tar files.
