i dont want them to be banned unless they are not following the rules.... in which case i will warn them... and after a certant # of warnings the will be banned....

i would like to see a warning feature in 2.2 that automatically bans a user after a certaint # of posts....

No worry to have : you will lose nothing at all :) : the only thing you will have to do for categories hierarchy is to re-attach forums attached to a forum or to the index (if you use this feature) to a category, and all the data will be 100% compliant with a vanilia phpBB. see i am really only worried that since i have the cat-hierarchy mod installed that will mess up the update to 2.2 when it is released....and therefore i will loose all of my posts...

I currently have a phpBB 2.0.6 forum and when phpBB 2.2 comes out I plan to update it... and I have installed a lot of MODs... I know that I will loose the MODs but what I want to know is will the updater/installer will automatically remove all of them with the database change or not...
