i just tried my chat extension on phpBB 3.2.0-a1 and everything seems to work fine except where forum posts get put into chat. they show up like this

when i view the source, it is showing the link ...

one of those wtf moment. why was this never implemented I have no clue. definitely part of the core not an extension.
Well the RFC forums are currently unusable because they are used for many different things at the same time.

i personally can't stand font awesome but won't have much say in it 
but i would hope that it will be local by default in the case of something going wrong with the connection to the external site. otherwise you guys will get flooded with issues about no icons showing

this has since died as with 3.2 we will be utilizing font-awsome for all of our icons.
will these icons be called from within the phpbb forum software? or will it depend on the external site to provide them?
reason i ask is when phpbb.com went down, logging into the ACP was lagging as it had to ...

now, how exactly do i request the events to be added to the core files so i can create the extension? i'm new to this so could someone please explain it in a simple form as i have never done it before

ok, to avoid any confusion. this is where the option to lock the new topic would go. i have manually modified the core files to achieve this and the code works fine with 3.1.2 as it also did with 3.0.12
