I would also add Russia's sad experience to Marc's words. While having soft delete or additional PM functionality might benefit phpbb, I would urge to discuss it without taking politics or terrorists into account. In Russia, our government officials use exactly this "terrorist threat" rhet...

Yeah, CCS standards, not HTML. My apologies for the typo. Doesn't change my meaning, though. I, personally, would rather rely on (outdated) standards, than to use some vendor-specific specs that could become obsolete in a few years. But I guess that's just me.

With all due respect, validator just does what it was designed to do - checks pages for HTML standards conformance. So what you want to say is that W3C's HTML standards are outdated (and therefore suck). Which is also a very debatable topic.validator sucks

Yep. Please note that to those who use web servers different from apache, those files just clutter directories.True, although phpBB provides blank index files in various directories
Possibly an option on installation would be nice? Auto-detected even?
