Re: [RFC] Predefined HTML inserts in posts
Still do not see why this cannot be dome with custom BBCodes in case you need this. (99.9% of boards do not.)

Re: [RFC] Style-specific language variables
I do not really see how this makes sense. Default needs to be whatever phpBB default is (i.e., (British) English ATM), not whatever language the style author thinks should be the default.Unknown Bliss wrote:Maybe have the default language with a default suffix or default prefix?

Re: [RFC] Contact Page
Jut to I guess it should be rather simple to add this. RMcGirr and Evil<3 (IgworW) had made an excellent contact form MOD: Contact Board Administration . I guess this could easily be inserted in the core, not?

Re: Various usability improvements
- "Board index" could be favourably replaced by "Forum" in the breadcrumb, that would sound less "nerdy"
- The topic subject should show up at the end of the breadcrumb too (just as plain text, not a link), that would really make you see where you are
- I don't understand why the arrows in the ...

Re: [RFC] MODDB - phpBB version compatibility polls feature
That said, the development team indeed does not do anything with moddb.
Someone could maybe post how does one submit suggestions regarding the website, instead of how one does not? (No, the suggestions above to post in the generic phpbb.com forum totally do not work.) Sure I could file a ticket ...

Re: [RFC] MODDB - phpBB version compatibility polls feature
This is not really the right place for this discussion anyways. The phpBB Development Team is not in charge of the MODDB nor do they do anything at all with it. This topic is better off at phpbb.com either under phpBB Discussion or MOD Writers Discussion.

Re: [RFC] MODDB - phpBB version compatibility polls feature
MOD Authors can just re-submit the MOD for validation.
Uhm, not the MIA ones... ;) For the active authors, this is kinda non-issue, they know best if the mods needs updating for newer phpBB version, for mods whose authors are inactive/gone this kind of poll would provide useful sanity indication ...

MODDB - phpBB version compatibility polls feature
Tired of neverending "does it work with phpBB X.Y.Z" threads in mod support forums? Well, a lot of them could possibly be avoided by deploying polls like WordPress has for their plugins. In case you do not know what I am speaking about, see the screenshot attached. Mod being validated does not mean ...

Re: [RFC] Skip post confirmation page
In that case users should be given a choice via UCP.
"Display interstitial pages" is not a very interesting setting.
Personally, I've used SMF boards on a 56kbps dial-up connection. SMF has no interstitial pages, and I was less annoyed than when I was posting on phpBB.com because I didn't ...

Re: Moving away from Jira
7/ The wiki syntax is plain horrible when it comes to usability.
The wiki is (now) completely separate from JIRA and runs off MediaWiki.
Not really sure what you mean? I mean the syntax used for formatting the text in JIRA tickets... I.e., when in comment, click on the yellow ? icon and you get ...
