hi
when the convertor gets to the end of conversion it shows cannot connect to host? does anyone else have this it times out alot along the way and i have to do back to the install root and continue with conversion?

its a very good idea having a check glad to know phpbb care! its a shame the host leaves it enabled but i suppose it would be a big change if the server hosts changed it, bet it could cause alot of frustration amongst people who have spent time coding with this enabled!

umm the host have said its turned on, but they have no plans to turn it off, is this bad?? the .htaccess wont control it either!

umm the host came back and said
htaccess only allows you to use frontpage, mod_rewrite and do url security. Unfortunately it doesn't allow anything else.
does this mean i may have a problem using the new version of phpbb?

umm tried disabling it in .htaccess but it generates a server 500 error, maybe a prob with server,

Hi does register globals have to be enable to allow the install script to function
