has the dev team thought about the possibility of create CSS only template? that is, no tables at all?

You're kidding me right? Blogs (and to some extent portals) may well be quite easy to mark up with semantic HTML... a forum is quite a different kettle of fish.

It may be possible, but it is definitely impractical. The result is that you end up with a kludge.

Semantically, certain aspects of a forum are tables, and should be marked up as such, however there are elements which can be done without tables.

This template goes some of the way to doing away with tables, but you can go further without too many problems. The issue is to know your target audience and thus what will work

how much deep is cross browser compatibillity ? i dont have "EVILly" NN 4, for check it :) for all other browsers from IE 4 and later using nbsp; for padding is not necessarily ...

JS of BBCode is so buged in Opera 7.54

No, likely not bugged. But this is development code running on a development forum, so we wait and see what happens at the first beta release.

In my experience, I found tables to be much more dependable and resilient then cascading style sheets, although there is quite a lot of room for improvement in the form. I could cut the current HTML code in half, but I don’t know how it would impact the current template.
