Editing templates throuch ACP

Postby MobileBadBoy » Sat Feb 21, 2004 10:29 am

I did a little browsing, but found nothing related so if it's been discussed just point me there. I'm easy to please.

I just downloaded the 21st February 09:01 GMT snapshot and installed it. This is the first time I've messed with it, and the only reason I'm messing with it is to get a jump on learning the new styling because I have to redo 12 (currently) styles for vbskinz.com when this thing goes final. Shocked

Anyway, to the point. I went into the ACP to check it out and went into the Templates editor. I choose subSilver, and then the overall_header.html template. I made a change and then submitted it. I did the recompile, and now nothing shows up when I go back into the template editor, for any of the templates.

Am I missing something? Every template I select the page refreshes but the Raw HTML box remains empty. They were all there before I first edited overall_header, submitted it and recompiled.

[last minute thought]
Bah....now my forum is deciding to just show white pages. It was working when I came here, heh. Neutral

This is not even beta, so it is supposed to have bugs. But reports are not welcomed yet.

Yeah I know it's not beta. Was just curious if I was doing something wrong or if it was a bug.

I encountered a similar problem. As far as I can ascertain, it's something to do with storing templates in the DB. I suggest you edit them offline, upload, and disable template caching.

Yeah that's working out much better. I'd prefer to do it that way anyway, I just thought I'd give the ACP a try. Things are going good now. If I could figure out how the hell to get the categories to split I'd be in business.
