I'm sorry if I'm sounding totally lame here, but I have no idea what this bumping feature looks / looked like? A good searching around didn't do me any good - mebbe someone at least got a little screenshot?
I mean... ofcourse I know what you mean by bumping and I think the feature sounds quite interesting, althou I see the need for a certain board discipline. Maybe this feature just got a different name which I can't conjure up in my tired danish brain? Thx.

Re: Reg. bump topic warning (well bump topic anyway!)
Bumping means to bring a topic to the very top of the topic lists on the forum index. For example, once I submit this message, this message will be at the top of the forum.
Well, the Bump Topic feature makes this possible without the need of a reply. By a simple click of your mouse, it will be possible to do so.

I think AlleyKat wanted to see what the feature looked like.
It was a text link at the top, by the email topic link

Re: Reg. bump topic warning (well bump topic anyway!)
Err OK. wonder why I never saw it... only available to topic starter, perhaps?meself while explanation was unfolding wrote: OK maybe I was unclear, if so sorry. What I would like to know was, how this feature looked - how was it implemented? Some kind of bump button that I just never noticed? And in the index or in the thread? And who could bump... I didn't try the FAQ, maybe it's mentioned there.
/edit/ nope wasn't in FAQ... aww I was keeping my hands off the cvsversions the best I've learned, now I feel compelled to look... /edit off/

Re: Reg. bump topic warning (well bump topic anyway!)
It was just recently implemented, so you may have never noticed. It was available for use by any user AFAIK.
Re: Reg. bump topic warning (well bump topic anyway!)
oki... hmm I was also kinda fishing for any thread discussing the feature seems it was pretty quickly disabled due to abuse again I hope you guys got an even safer, secret testplace to retreat to when working on this.
