Upgrading

Post by q3utom »

This has probably been asked before but the search function isnt working yet, so I'll have to ask.
Will you be able to upgrade old phpbb, say 2.04 so 2.2 without losing all of your users and posts?
Thanks

you may have to upgrade to the latest 2.0.x release, then upgrade the 2.2. but its all depending on how much time the phpBB team is willing to spend on the upgrade scripts :)

Of course it will be possible! Why would it not be possible? I think a lot of people would not upgrade if it weren't possible....

I must admit it continues to surprise me when say "Will we be able to upgrade" ... what precident exists to suggest otherwise? Was phpBB 1.0 not upgradeable to 1.2? 1.2 to 1.4? 1.4 to 2.0? ... Do people honestly think we'll leave our existing users high and dry? :)
