Yes it does... but there was a period that the Samspade servers were down for periodic maintainance. This is outside of phpBB.com's control.

it hasn't worked for me in weeks, about a week or so ago they finally put up a msg on their root page statting it was maintenance.

samspade.org has been back up for over a week now.

I found this, and yes samspade did = teh down. So outside of phpBB's control (maybe a feature in 2.2 to use an alternative ipwhois site if the first didn't work
