some people ask about phpBB GSoC 2017. is there any news ?

what happened on 2016 ?

I don't think we said anywhere we were participating in the 2016 GSoC.

The GSoC has become more and more competitive for organizations over the past few years. Google says they try to be fair in their organization selections, giving opportunity to those organizations that hadn't participated before which ended up resulting in us not being a part of the selected org pool for last year. They typically only select 180 organizations to participate, which represents less than half of the organizations that apply. Whether or not we will again apply for GSoC remains to be seen. Whenever we do participate it is always announced on phpbb.com.

i saw the idea phpBB GSoC 2016 & it was very nice idea :

any news of phpBB idea in GSoC 2017 ?

Whether or not we will again apply for GSoC remains to be seen. Whenever we do participate it is always announced on phpbb.com.
