For notifications, why not just subscribe?
Did I say that the only reason I was bookmarking was for notifications?

Anyway, if you bookmark a post, you could now get two types of notifications:

1. A topic that you have a bookmark in has been replied to. That's what subscribing can do.

2. A post that you bookmarked has been quoted. Subscriptions can't do that.

I think I like the idea. A 30 page bookmarked topic for information on a specific post is not very useful. I would say create a ticket so it gets implemented. I don't see why this couldn't go into a future 3.1.x release.

Didn't say you said it was the only reason 8-)

As for 1, I don't see the need for bookmarking to receive notifications (It does now though?), that's what subscriptions do so it would seem a bit redundant. But as for number 2 (regarding notifications for quoted), that would be awesome.
