I think they might. The BBCode engine got changed, and it might already allow such a feature.

No, that is not an existing feature, and it is rather complicated to implement.

Allow certain groups to use certain bbcode. ie, moderators can have a special "[mod][/mod]" bbcode to use when they edit a post and want to leave a comment in that post but don't want it confused with the original content. That's just one example.

Can I ask what changes where made to the engine?
Slightly better English than it was in 2005, still improving :D
