How to put html links on our phpbb3 index page!

Hi guys, I dunno if this is the right place to put this request but here goes. On the old phpbb2 forum, it was easy to add links to the overall header and have them display on our board, now with the new version, I just can;t seem to get them to work. Can someone please tell me how and where to put my html code so I can see them on the forum please. Much appreciated
